The 1926 restored Fargo Theatre is the area’s only remaining vintage movie palace with a vaudeville stage. See how one man’s dream became a reality. Robert Asp of Moorhead dreamed of building a replica Viking Ship and sailing it to Norway, the land of his ancestors. Photographs, recordings and an award-winning documentary chronicles the construction of the 76-foot, hand-built Viking ship Hjemkomst and its incredible 6,000-mile voyage across the Atlantic in 1982. The ship is on display at the Center, along with other national traveling exhibits.
